Anyone familiar with 19th-century life is also familiar with figures who disappear from their usual environs for foreign parts, there to spend months taking the waters or soothing their ailing lungs in the balmy air of Italy.
Society Nineteen has been on a similar kind of hiatus this spring (no Italy, I'm sorry to say) but I'm pleased to report that we're officially back shortly with a new series of interviews.
Jo Baker, Maud Casey, Sandra Dallas and David Morrell are among the many luminaries with whom we'll be chatting. Check back here, follow us on Facebook or use the button at right to sign up for the So19 newsletter to ensure that you don't miss any of these rich conversations! --Suzanne Fox
